EXPERIENCE
My knowledge increases daily, as does my experience. Presently, I am defending a gentleman accused of two second-degree felonies and one third-degree felonies. He faces twenty-five years in prison.
Recently, a young man’s parents gifted their son a new performance car. Unfortunately, he was cited with two misdemeanors. Seems minor? He was facing a year in jail if convicted on both counts. I had the state nollo prosequi the case and his record was not tarnished. He did, however, have to pay $150. This was accomplished by interviewing the witnesses, preparing a defense, and consultation with other counsel. A few simple hours devoted to the matter and I ensured my client did not suffer a day in jail.
No points, no insurance increase, and no jail time.
On the civil side of my practice, I was out to dinner with a couple I’ve known for some years. They leased a beautiful SUV. Unfortunately, it is alleged to be defective. Sudden seizures of the brakes and vehicle injured both he and his wife. He is a surgeon and, as a result, was unable to move his arm for months, requiring injections. They asked me to prosecute their case for them.
I accepted.
For another gentleman, he was accused of sexual harassment. The claim was baseless. The plaintiff filed with the EEOC and, after determining it to be a meritless claim, it was dismissed. She may still file in federal court. If she does, we will be prepared.
Likewise, a real estate developer was having an issue regarding the monies due to him under a lease agreement. This is ongoing, but, it seems that it will end well.
In a similar criminal case, opposing counsel [the prosecutor] attempted to have my co-counsel deposed [questioned on the record] as to what my client said to his counselors. This was wholly improper. Attorney-client privilege prevents such questioning and I am required to invoke if asked such questions. As a result, I drafted a 22-page, single-spaced brief on the matter. That was not the end of it. Rather than a full disclosure, I developed a strategy which permitted us to disclose what was harmful to the opposing side while beneficial to our side.
Such strategies only come from extensive study and time. This is why I take on fewer clients. I have far more time to devote to a man’s case. I reject the notion of “bleed em’ and plead em’.” Instead, I devote myself, fully, to a man’s case. To put such a matter bluntly: you can either have quantity or quality with an attorney. I choose the latter.
What will you choose?
My client was facing a retail theft charge, a first degree misdemeanor. If convicted, he would be fined $1,000. If convicted, he could have been sentenced to a maximum of 365 days in the county jail.
My client did not suffer such a fate. I successfully defended my client: getting him a small fine and a class. Afterward, I succeeded in having the charges against him dropped by the State. A misdemeanor is sometimes called a “Mr. Meaner.” If handled poorly, a misdemeanor has the potential to ruin someone’s life. I will do all I can to ensure you do not suffer such a fate.
I do not pressure my clients to take the first offer. I fight tooth and nail to ensure the best outcome for the man or woman who seeks my protection.
Retain me to defend you.
THE BULL AND TRAIN
My name is Julian Kessel. I have endured a decade of training and education to become an attorney. It was bitter work, but the results … were worth it.
Unlike many other attorneys, I devoted five years of my life to my legal education. While in law school, I worked for a firm, studying under an experienced trial attorney. This permitted me to make the most of my time in law school.
I devoted tens of thousands of hours studying trial attorneys. Men such as Irving Younger, Lyod Paul Stryker, Melvin Belli, Gerry Spence, Sir Thomas Erskine, and, my late friend, F. lee bailey. Every book that each man had written, I consumed. Each old, grainy, black-and-white video I could locate, was dissected. Each encyclopedia, quotation, trial, transcript, was analyzed and stored. From their remarkable experience and wealth of knowledge, I began building my own skillset.
I not only recommend Attorney Julian Kessel, but I guarantee once you have used his service you too will look no further. He responds in an extremely timely matter; he is very knowledge and a trustworthy man. From our first meeting, he explained everything to me in terms I could easily understand, since I personally had no understanding of legal processes. Julian explained the law, outlined in clear language the steps in the process that were needed to be done. He was reassuring, articulate, knowable and effective. I was impressed that he was straightforward and told me what to expect each step of the way. He made the process so much easier and gave me peace of mind in a stressful but successful outcome. Julian was selected on recommendation from a trusted friend and was some of the best advice I have ever received.
